This post is about the places I have been to, hope and
wish the page grows day after day month after month and year after year. I Have
decided not to mention anything about the place I live in right now or from the
place I come, because in that case I might have lot to talk about that place. I’m just trying to keep my blog brief. The first City in my list is Mumbai, should I call it a
coincidence or have I been lucky because I feel so content to talk about this
place and a great way to start my travel.
Mumbai
There is a song from Delhi 6, the title song, but I would
love to change the Lyric a bit since I have always related that song with this
city
Yeh Mumbai hai meerae yaar...... Mumbai Bus ishq mohabat pyaar......
I had to travel from Bangalore to Mumbai for my project and it was the First time I was travelling by flight Go Air, man you should see how excited I was, like a child seeing something new for the first time (Dude it’s my first Flight Journey take it or leave it), that moment when there is a roller coaster in your stomach, when the flight takes off, whoa it’s an awesome feeling. Now back to the subject…

When the flight was getting close to Mumbai the Captain says
the flight will Land in few mins, then I decide to take the first Looks of
Mumbai, Its nice to see the Aerial view of a place you get to know what the
place actually looks like (Never Judge a book by its Cover), When I saw Mumbai for the first time the aerial Image was so Disturbing, all I saw next to
Airport, Blue tarpaulin covers. When I asked my friend what was it? He said they
were all homes and it was the cherry (do not get offended I call it a
cherry, I am just trying to be real with my writing) and there was so much blue
I was concerned about the people living in the place their life and
status(Happiness is where you feel it is right), when we landed the climate in
Mumbai was so dull since it had been Raining, then we had to leave the Airport which was at Santa Cruz and had to go to Sher-e-punjab
which was in Andheri East, then comes the next disappointment we take a cab
where he asks where you want to go nothing else, another person gets into the
Cab along with the driver as we move out of the Airport he asks AC or Non AC since it was raining we preferred a Non AC he says pay 700 we ask him why
before the journey and he says Ithar aisaihe hae.. then we pay him we come out
of the Airport and he asks us to switch cab into a Non AC Cab (What sort of
switch and robbery is this), then the cab takes us to Sher-e-Punjab with little
difficulty we reach our destination.
The most Lively City I have been to is Mumbai, if you are
wondering what changed my mind…
Let’s start about the good things in Mumbai, in that case if
has to be food first and it surely has to be Vada Pav, it’s a Potato Bonda
between a Bun it has green mirchi to go along with it, its tasty and there is
true thought about Mumbai's vada pav, “people stay alive just by feeding on to Vada Pavs
in Mumbai”, Thanks to the Vada Pav. There were some good restaurants in and
around the place I stayed, like Kebab corner, loved the Chicken tandoori there,
Veg theme the food here was so Fresh and the Rotis there are too good, all these
are decent and affordable restaurants. When it comes to Food we had some great
time thanks to all the foodie lovers in my room, one such Instance we get back
from office and its 9 pm and discussion about where to eat starts, and it lasts
just for a minute, my colleague says let’s try Jaffer Briyani, Delhi darbar the
Briyanis there are good, we search the web and make a call and our dinner plan
is done, I find a beauty about Mumbai in this you call for a Dinner order at 11
pm or 12 pm and still you get Door delivery instantaneously, the Briyani was
amazing, from the roadside fried ground nuts to the Dominos pizza, Mumbai has
it all and at all time, there were so many options for food and there was never
a Situation where we hesitated to eat a meal.
The autos and cabs, except for the First time disappointment
with Cab we never had such situations after that but my respect grew for the
Auto walas and Taxi walas, they all stick to the meter. One such situation was
I took an auto from my Home to office and I got down at my stop, the auto guy
takes his price sheet and sees the cost, its 37 bucks, I pay him 40 hoping he
will not return the change decide to leave but to my surprise he returns me 3
bucks, they are not ready to take a penny more nor a penny less.
The Homes in Mumbai are small but each house is so sophisticated on the Inside. In Mumbai houses are mostly flats or the congested houses in Cherry's, one more thing which I noticed about Mumbai is the place is not flat like any plains like Chennai or Coimbatore or it is not fully Hilly like Ooty, it is a mixture of Both and the signals are less organised except in few places, coming back to the houses, most flats are normal on the outside, but when you get into the house they are so sophisticated in terms of appearance and comfort, people invest so much to their interiors and that is the way they try to differentiate themselves, and each home is unique in its way of look. Some might question Mumbai is a City so Traffic, population pollution congestion are all part of it, I agree to it, it is just that I’m trying to tell people are happy or rather trying to make use of what they have be it a single bedroom or a hall or just a room.

There are some great places in Mumbai from Sea Link that connects Bandra and Worli, Marine
drive a place where you can spend time for yourself , Mumbai is one city which is lively all the time, be it early morning or
Late night this city has the pulse to keep you going...
Silvassa
A place that comes under the Union territory, it comes under Daman or to be more precise its close to Vapi, you can find most Manufacturing Industries there for obvious reasons, since it is a Union territory you have excise benefits.
The life in Silvassa is simple and the place has moderate development, with few flats and a few malls, cost of living is very less so you can make a good living with a decent take home salary, but exposure to the outside world lies only in Tvs and communication. The hotels are good in Silvassa, of the hotels I stayed in, Loved Kamat and Pioneer.Liquor is cheap in Silvassa, you get all kinds of drinks with less price, it is even lesser when compared to Pondhicherry.
Never had the chance to visit places close by, but heard Daman was 40 Kms from Silvassa and has a beach with black sand. One more info about the place don know how true it is, if you marry a local girls in Silvassa the government gives you money and land, it is just to give a good economic position for that caste in that place, quite a good initiative.
To be continued....
